Forecasters predicted a cooling and drying trend early next week in Riverside County.
Saturday temperatures reached a high of 91 in the downtown Riverside area, 87 in Temecula, 94 in Hemet, 102 in Coachella and 104 in Palm Springs, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday temperatures were expected to reach a high of 93 in the downtown Riverside area, 89 in Temecula, 93 in Hemet and 104 in Coachella and Palm Springs, according to the NWS.
“We can expect to cool a few degrees each day with breezy westerly winds across the mountains and deserts each afternoon and evening,” the NWS announced.
By Tuesday, temperatures were expected to reach 87 in the downtown Riverside area and Hemet, 83 in Temecula, 102 in Coachella and 101 in Palm Springs.
“Low temperatures will also begin to cool off through early next week as well with lows in the 50s and 60s along and west of the mountains and up in the high desert,” the NWS announced.
Cooler temperatures were not expected to last long, as a warming trend was expected to take over midweek, reaching the high 90s again by Saturday in areas including downtown Riverside and Hemet, the mid-90s in Temecula and 108 in Coachella and Palm Springs.
