Slight chances of precipitation were expected at the beginning of next week, forecasters announced.

“The low to the northwest will move southeastward into SoCal by Monday while hurricane Odalys– currently about 950 miles southwest of San Diego– slowly moves north and weakens, becoming a remnant low about 500 miles southwest of San Diego by Monday,” the National Weather Service announced.

Sunday highs were expected to reach 89 in the downtown Riverside area, 87 in Temecula and Hemet, and 97 in Coachella and 95 Palm Springs. Coachella had a 20% chance of precipitation starting Sunday night, according to the NWS.

On Monday, Hemet was predicted to have a 20% chance of precipitation with winds between 5 to 10 mph and gusts of up to 20 mph, the NWS announced. The Coachella Valley and Palm Springs had a 30% of precipitation Monday, dropping to 20% by Monday night.

“The warming begins on Tuesday and peaks next Saturday with daytime high temperatures up to 7 degrees above normal in the deserts and as much as 10-15 degrees above normal in the low elevations west of the mountains,” the NWS announced.

The downtown Riverside area, Temecula and Hemet were expected to reach the mid 90s by Wednesday, and remaining the same the rest of the week. Temperatures were expected to reach the triple digits in the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs again by Wednesday, through the rest of the week, according to the NWS.
