Internet-based services at UC Riverside came to a temporary halt Friday during an unexplained technical disruption.
According to a campus statement Friday, problems surfaced shortly before the noon hour, when access to various systems wasn’t possible.
“IT staff are actively investigating the cause of the disruption,” UCR stated via social media.
By 3 p.m., the systems were back online and classified as “operational,” though the university stated it was refraining from calling the outage “resolved” because there may yet be remaining instability in the network.
Some of the services that went offline included the campus ePay system, the emergency notification system, websites for departments, including the Department of Human Resources Management portal, and the MyUCR student accounts.
There was no immediate word on what might have triggered the outage.
Updates were being posted to techalerts.ucr.edu/.
