Representatives with the television network TNT announced on Monday they have reached a new nine-year deal with the NBA to televise an additional 12 basketball games each year beginning in 2016.
The new agreement increases TNT’s coverage of the NBA to 64 live games annually and also includes additional digital rights to provide NBA content on Turner Broadcasting’s Bleacher Report app and website, according to TNT.
The new media rights begin with the start of the 2016-2017 regular NBA season and extend through 2024-2025 season.
In addition to televising 64 games, TNT representatives said the network will also have television rights to NBA’s opening night, exclusive rights to the NBA all-star game and more rights to NBA playoff games than any other network.
