Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant underwent surgery Wednesday for a torn rotator cuff, an injury which will keep him out of the remaining 2014-15 NBA season.
Bryant posted a status update and photo on Instagram after his surgery, writing “Surgery went well! Thank u for your well wishes. Time to finish producing the #musefilm.”
His recovery is expected to take 9 months.
This is the 19th NBA season for the 36-year-old player and his seasonal injuries have sparked commentary on his career moving forward. Bryant was limited to six games in the 2013-2014 season after injuring his left knee.
