All fans can take to the field to participate in Father’s Day Catch following Sunday’s Los Angeles Dodgers-San Francisco Giants game at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers will also celebrate Father’s Day by giving the first 40,000 fans in attendance a Father’s Day barbecue set as they leave the stadium and with a ceremonial first pitch with Dodger fathers and their children.
As with all Sunday home games except the final one, the Dodgers will conduct their Viva Los Dodgers family-friendly festival. Musical entertainment will be provided by Cumbia Machin and Ballet Folklorico Eternal Juventud.
Former World Boxing Association interim super lightweight champion Mauricio Herrera and 2012 U.S. boxing Olympian Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz Jr. will sign autographs from 3-5 p.m. at Viva Los Dodgers.
Herrera is scheduled to fight Hank Lundy for the fringe North American Boxing Federation super lightweight title July 11 at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. Diaz is also scheduled to fight on the card.
Viva Los Dodgers begins at 3 p.m. at Dodger Stadium’s 76 station.
Lee Lacy, a Dodgers second baseman-outfielder from 1972-78, will sign autographs in the left field pavilion plaza from 3-5 p.m.
Clare Bowen, who portrays Scarlett O’Connor on the ABC drama “Nashville,” will perform the national anthem.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Todd Prince of Prescott, Ariz. will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game. Prince enlisted in 2002 and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 and Southwest Asia in 2012.
Prince is a member of the inactive ready reserve assigned to March Air Force Base in Riverside.
Auto gates will open at 2:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 3:10 p.m. Pregame ceremonies will begin at 4:50 p.m. for the 5:08 p.m. game.
