UCLA announced its 13-game men’s basketball nonconference schedule, including a Dec. 10 game at Pauley Pavilion against Michigan.
The Wolverines were 23-13 during the 2015-16 season, defeating Tulsa in an NCAA Tournament First Four game, then losing to Notre Dame in the first round.
The Bruins will open their season Nov. 11 against Pacific at Pauley Pavilion. Their other nonconference opponents at Pauley Pavilion will be Cal State Northridge (Nov. 13), San Diego (Nov. 17), Long Beach State (Nov. 20), UC Riverside (Nov. 30), UC Santa Barbara (Dec. 14) and Western Michigan (Dec. 21).
UCLA will play Wooden Legacy games Nov. 24-25 at Cal State Fullerton and Nov. 30 at Honda Center. The tournament field also consists of Cal State Northridge, Dayton, Nebraska, New Mexico, Portland, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
The Bruins will complete a home-and-home series with Kentucky Dec. 3 with their first game at Rupp Arena. UCLA’s 87-77 victory over then-top-ranked Kentucky Dec. 3 was the highlight of its 15-17 season.
The Bruins will also face Ohio State Dec. 17 in Las Vegas as part of the annual CBS Sports Classic.
UCLA’s Pac-12 schedule will be finalized during the summer.
“We’re confident that this nonconference schedule is not only going to go a long way towards helping our team prepare for Pac-12 play, but ultimately it’s going to pay dividends for us in March,” Bruins coach Steve Alford said.
