
Retired U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Kyle Maki of Cypress will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game Saturday night when the Los Angeles Dodgers play host to the Milwaukee Brewers at Dodger Stadium.
During a 24-year military career Maki coordinated relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina and relief and final cleanup efforts after the Deepwater Horizon spill; initiated operational security boarding teams to ensure the safe passage of high interest vessels into and out of the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks; and served aboard the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Jarvis.
Rob Finnegan of West Sacramento, whose wife Stefanie was killed in a car crash in April, will throw the ceremonial first pitch along with his 5-year- old daughter Aubrey and 12-year-old son Andrew.
Kearran Giovanni, who plays Detective Amy Sykes on the TNT crime drama “Major Crimes,” will sing the national anthem.
DJ Adam, a disc jockey from KIIS-FM (102.7), will provide music in the left-field plaza and the acoustic guitar duo Everett Coast will provide music in the right-field reserve area from 5-7 p.m.
Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. The Dodgers will take batting practice from 4:20-5:20 p.m. and the Brewers from 5:25-6:20 p.m. Pregame ceremonies, including the national anthem and ceremonial first pitch, will begin at 6:57 p.m., with the game set to start at 7:10 p.m.
