Dodger Stadium will play host to the semifinals and final of the 2017 World Baseball Classic in the spring, Major League Baseball announced Thursday.

It will be the second time the championship rounds of the tournament will be held at the stadium, which also played host in 2009. The games will be played March 20-22.

“The Los Angeles Dodgers and the city of Los Angeles are excited to be selected as the host of the World Baseball Classic semifinals and final,” Dodger President Stan Kasten said. “Dodger Stadium and our great fans look forward to the finest players in the world competing for the WBC championship.”

Second round games will take place at Petco Park in San Diego March 14-19.

The WBC’s first- and second-round format will be round-robin pool play, with each team playing the others in their pool once. The top two teams in each of the four first-round pools will advance to the second round.

The United States will be in Pool C at Marlins Park in Miami along with the defending champion Dominican Republic, Canada and Colombia.

Other host cities for early round games are Miami; Guadalajara, Mexico; Seoul, South Korea; and Tokyo, Japan.
