Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay expressed optimism that starting cornerback Kayvon Webster will be cleared from the concussion protocol to play Sunday.

Webster practiced on a limited basis Thursday after not practicing Wednesday.

“I think he’s on track to be available for us, so as long as we don’t have any setbacks,” McVay said Thursday during his customary meeting with reporters following practice at California Lutheran University.

Webster has started eight of the season’s 10 games.

Cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman missed his second consecutive practice because of a thigh injury suffered in Sunday’s 24-7 loss to Minnesota.

“Nickell is still kind of day-to-day for us right now,” McVay said

Robey-Coleman has started two games and played in all 10.

Two other Ram starters also missed practice Thursday — linebacker Mark Barron, because of a hand injury, and receiver Robert Woods because of a shoulder injury. Pro Bowl defensive tackle Aaron Donald missed practice because of an unspecified illness.
