The Los Angeles Football Club will wear environmentally friendly uniforms when it plays host to Seattle Sounders FC Sunday at Banc of California Stadium.
For the third consecutive year, all Major League Soccer teams will wear special adidas x Parley uniforms during Earth Day weekend.
The uniforms’ fabric is made from plastic waste collected on beaches and in coastal communities that is transformed into high-performance sportswear.
The honorary falconer will be Dave Farrell, the bassist and backing vocalist of the rock band Linkin Park.
One of the team’s four falcons is released before the start of each match for a pregame flight at the center of the field, hunting a lure of the opponent’s crest.
A Fan Fest including live music and alcoholic beverages will begin at noon for the 4 p.m. game.
