A 3-year-old filly who won her only two races has died from a training injury at Los Alamitos Race Course, state horse racing officials reported Thursday.
Non Compliant “sustained an injury while galloping early this morning,” California Horse Racing Board spokesman Mike Marten told City News Service on Thursday.
Non Compliant’s last race was Oct. 5 at Santa Anita, and she had no official workouts in the last 60 days, according to the industry website Equibase.
The filly, trained by Bob Baffert, was scratched from a planned race at last year’s Breeders Cup at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club after a medical scan raised concerns.
She is the sixth horse to die from a racing or training injury at the Cypress track this year.
