A car smashed into a tree in Dana Point Tuesday, killing one teenager and injuring five others, authorities said.
The accident occurred shortly before noon Tuesday at Dana Point Harbor Drive and Island Way, according to Sgt. Gerard McCann of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and five others in the vehicle were rushed to an area hospital, where three were listed in critical condition but expected to survive and the two others were treated for minor injuries, McCann added.
