Police sought the public’s assistance Wednesday in locating a hit-and-run driver who severely injured a 52-year-old woman.
Officers responded around 11:15 p.m. Sunday to Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Moorpark Street to reports of a driver colliding with two parked vehicles and two pedestrians standing nearby, severely injuring one of them, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver failed to stop and continued traveling southbound on Laurel Canyon.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the critically injured pedestrian to a hospital. The other pedestrian was evaluated at the scene but refused further medical assistance.
“Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” police said in a statement.
The city is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
