Some patrons of a Sherman Oaks restaurant are thankful Thursday they weren’t hurt when a car crashed into a building next door to the Ventura Boulevard eatery where they were dining.
The crash was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 13701 Ventura Blvd.
No one was injured in the crash, and it was unclear what caused the driver to lose control of the car and plow into the building on the corner of Ventura and Woodman Avenue.
The vehicle missed hitting the restaurant’s outdoor dining area by mere feet, video from the location showed.
Firefighters responded to the scene to remove the car and shore up the structure, and a building inspector was summoned to determine if there was a lingering safety risk.
