The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped to its lowest amount since Feb. 4 Thursday, decreasing 1 cent to $4.565.

The average price has dropped nine of the past 10 days, decreasing 8.5 cents, including a half-cent Wednesday, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The average price is 4.7 cents less than one week ago, 17.7 cents lower than one month ago and 21.6 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.928 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

A run of eight decreases in nine days totaling 7 cents that dropped the Orange County average price to its lowest amount since Feb. 3 ended with an increase of one-tenth of a cent to $4.504. It dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 14.3 cents lower than one month ago and 19.6 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.954 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the eighth consecutive day following a run of 14 increases in 15 days totaling 10.5 cents, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.162. It has dropped 6.4 cents over the past eight days, including seven-tenths of a cent Wednesday.

The national average price is 5.8 cents less than one week ago and 35 cents lower than one year ago but 2.5 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.854 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
