The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday to its lowest amount since Jan. 25, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.495.

The average price has fallen 10 of the past 11 days, dropping 6.3 cents, including six-tenths of a cent Thursday, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The average price is 3.5 cents less than one week ago, 15.5 cents lower than one month ago and 20.2 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.998 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped 1 cent to $4.436, its lowest amount since Jan. 27. It has dropped eight of the past nine days, decreasing 5.6 cents, including six-tenths of a cent Thursday. It dropped six consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Wednesday and resumed decreasing Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 3.7 cents less than one week ago, 12.6 cents lower than one month ago and 18.7 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.022 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

“Oil Price Information Service reports that imported gasoline and high refinery utilization rates are keeping supply steady in Southern California,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement released Thursday.

The national average price dropped a half-cent to $3.155, one day after remaining unchanged. It is 1.2 cents less than one week ago, 3.2 cents lower than one month ago and 35 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.861 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
