The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose two-tenths of a cent Monday for the second consecutive day to $4.47 after dropping to its lowest amount since Jan. 15.

The average price dropped five consecutive days before Sunday, decreasing 2.6 cents, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 2.2 cents less than one week ago, 12.4 cents less than one month ago and 16.1 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.023 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

A run of five decreases in six days totaling 1.7 cents that dropped the Orange County average price to its lowest amount since Jan. 14 ended Monday with an increase of one-tenth of a cent to $4.416. The average price had dropped one-tenth of a cent Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 1.6 cents less than one week ago, 9.5 cents lower than one month ago and 15.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.042 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $3.143, the fourth consecutive decrease after three consecutive increases totaling 2.2 cents. It has dropped 1.9 cents over the past four days, including a half-cent Sunday.

The national average price is a three-tenths of a cent more than one week ago but 5.1 cents less than one month ago and 36.2 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.873 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
