The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Thursday to $4.466, the third consecutive day it changed by one-tenth of a cent or less.

The average price is a half-cent less than one week ago, 9.2 cents lower than one month ago and 11.5 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price was unchanged Wednesday and dropped one-tenth of a cent Tuesday. It has dropped $2.027 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $4.41 after back-to-back increases totaling six-tenths of a cent, including four-tenths of a cent Wednesday. It is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 8.5 cents lower than one month ago and 8.1 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped $2.048 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

A run of seven increases in eight days totaling 3.4 cents to the national average price, including seven-tenths of a cent Wednesday, ended with a decrease four-tenths of a cent to $3.166. It rose four consecutive days, dropped two-tenths of a cent Sunday and resumed decreasing Monday.

The national average price is 1.9 cents more than one week ago and 2.3 cents higher than one month ago but 29.3 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.85 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
