The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $4.466 after back-to-back increases of one-tenth of a cent.

The average price is one-tenth of a cent less than one week ago, 5.3 cents lower than one month ago and 9.8 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the American Automobile Association and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped $2.027 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose for the fourth consecutive day, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.426. It has increased 1.1 cents over the past four days, including three-tenths of a cent Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 1.2 cents more than one week ago, but 3.7 cents less than one month ago and 6.1 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $2.032 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose 1.5 cents to $3.55, one day after a five-day streak of decreases totaling 3.2 cents ended with an increase of two-tenths of a cent. It is 1.5 cents less than one week ago and 28.9 cents lower than one year ago but two-tenths of a cent more than one month ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.861 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
