The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Monday for the third time in four days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.482.

The average price has increased 1.6 cents over the past four days, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It rose two-tenths of a cent Friday and 1.1 cents Saturday and was unchanged Sunday.

The average price is 1.3 cents more than one week ago but 1.3 cents less than one month ago and 7.8 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.011 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose for the ninth consecutive day, increasing two-tenths of a cent to $4.45. It has increased 3.5 cents over the past nine days, including eight-tenths of a cent Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 3 cents more than one week ago and 1.4 cents higher than one month ago but 3.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.008 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The streak of decreases to the national average price was extended to four days, but barely, with a drop of one-tenth of a cent to $3.137. It has decreased 2.3 cents over the past four days, including four-tenths of a cent Sunday.

The streak of dropping prices follows a three-day streak of increases totaling 2.2 cents.

The national average price is one-tenth of a cent less than one week ago, 3.8 cents lower than one month ago and 27.7 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.879 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
