The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles and Orange counties recorded their largest increases since May 10 Thursday.

The Los Angeles County average price rose 1.2 cents to $4.489 while the Orange County average price increased 2 cents to $4.463, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The Los Angeles County average price is 2.3 cents more than one week ago but three-tenths of a cent less than one month ago and 7.3 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $2.004 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price is 3.3 cents more than one week ago and 3.1 cents higher than one month ago but 2.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.995 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose four-tenths of a cent to $3.137, one day after a five-day streak of decreases totaling 3 cents ended with an increase of three-tenths of a cent.

The national average price is 2.3 cents less than one week ago, three-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago and 26 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.879 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
