The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped three-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $4.723, one day after a streak of three consecutive increases totaling eight-tenths of a cent ended with a decrease of four-tenths of a cent.

The average price is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 8.3 cents more than one month ago and 17.6 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped $1.77 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $4.696, one day after decreasing four-tenths of a cent. It is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 8.9 cents more than one month ago and 21.9 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped $1.762 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the third consecutive day following a run of nine decreases in 10 days totaling 7.1 cents, increasing 1 cent to $3.16. It has risen 2.8 cents over the past three days, including 1.5 cents Tuesday, its largest increase since Aug. 27.

The national average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 3 cents lower than one month ago and 4.4 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.856 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
