The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County increased four-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.727.

Last week’s explosion and fire at Chevron’s El Segundo oil refinery — the state’s second largest — is expected to cause Southern California gas prices to rise in the coming days, though the extent and duration of any potential increases is unclear.
