The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Wednesday to $4.728 after four consecutive increases totaling 1.1 cents.

The average price is a half-cent more than one week ago, 6.3 cents higher than one month ago and 14.5 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has decreased $1.765 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose for the fifth consecutive day, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.705. It has risen 1.7 cents over the past five days, including three-tenths of a cent Tuesday. The streak of increases follows a four-day streak of decreases totaling 1.3 cents.

The Orange County average price is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 6.4 cents higher than one month ago and 17.5 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.753 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped six-tenths of a cent to $3.115, one day after decreasing 1.2 cents. It is 4.5 cents less than one week ago, 8.4 cents lower than one month ago and 6.5 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.901 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
