The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped 1.2 cents Wednesday to $4.863, one day after a 12-day streak of increases totaling 26.4 cents ended with a decrease of 1.2 cents.
The average price is 3.9 cents more than one week ago, 14.8 cents higher than one month ago and 36.6 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has decreased $1.63 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped 1.7 cents to $4.816, one day after recording its largest decrease since May 23, 2024, 2.1 cents.
The Orange County average price is 3.3 cents more than one week ago, 13.2 cents higher than one month ago and 41.7 cents greater than one year ago. It has decreased $1.642 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose three-tenths of a cent to $3.075 after back-to-back increases of one-tenth of a cent. It is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, eight-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago and three-tenths of a cent below what it was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.941 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
