Two people were killed in a rollover crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway in East Los Angeles, the California Highway Patrol reported Thursday.
CHP officers responded at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to the westbound freeway and the Long Beach (710) freeway exchange where they found one person had been ejected from the vehicle after the single-car crash, a CHP spokesman told City News Service.
The victim who was ejected was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
A second victim died while enroute to a hospital, the CHP reported.
The victims’ names, genders and ages were not released.
The CHP issued a SigAlert that closed several lanes of the westbound freeway for approximately 3 1/2 hours while they investigated the circumstances of the crash. The freeway reopened at around 9 p.m., KTLA reported.
