Lanes will be closed on the Golden State (5) Freeway in both directions next week in Castaic for overnight road work, Caltrans advised motorists Friday.
Monday through next Friday these closures will take place from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
One lane of the north- and southbound 5 may be closed at the Lake Hughes Road overcrossing, according to Caltrans, which stated the closures are part of a project to replace concrete slabs, upgrade drainage systems and guardrails, repair and stabilize slopes through rock scaling, install geogrid, and construction of a retaining wall.
The project began in April 2022, according to the transportation agency.
