Another round of extended weekend lane reductions to allow for paving work will begin Friday on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Whittier, this time between the Pomona (60) Freeway and Peck Road.

The lane reductions and ramp closures are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Friday and will conclude at 5 a.m. Monday, according to Caltrans.

The closures are scheduled as follows on the southbound 605:

–Only one lane will be open from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday;

–Two lanes will be open from 4 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday;

–One lane will be open from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

All southbound lanes will reopen to the public by 5 a.m. Monday.

As for ramps, the off-ramps from the southbound 605 to Peck Road will be closed from 87 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday and the on-ramp from southbound Peck Road on-ramp to the southbound 605 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Additionally, the on-ramp from northbound Peck Road to the southbound 605 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, along with the connector from the eastbound 60 Freeway to the southbound 605.

The connector from the westbound 60 to the southbound 605 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday and the connectors from the southbound 605 to the eastbound and westbound 60 Freeway will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Demolition work may be heard and felt by those nearby on Friday, according to Caltrans, which warned that more 55-hour extended weekend lane reductions are scheduled through the balance of the year.

The work is part of the $260 million Super 605 freeway corridor rehabilitation projects between Long Beach and the San Gabriel Valley.
