A deer wandered onto the San Diego (405) Freeway near the Getty Center and was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday.
A Honda sedan struck the deer at 1:50 a.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway just south of Getty Center Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Arriving CHP officers stopped southbound traffic just before 2 a.m. near Skirball Drive to move the deer to the right shoulder, the CHP said.
Video from the scene shows officers pulling the deer by the antlers to the right shoulder and covering it with a yellow tarp while cars waited nearby.
The roadway was cleared at 2:16 a.m.
