Overnight lane closures will begin Tuesday evening on Topanga Canyon Boulevard for guardrail work in Topanga.
One lane of Topanga Canyon Boulevard will remain open to traffic in both directions between Entrado Drive and Pacific Coast Highway while crews conduct the work.
The closures are scheduled from as early as 10 p.m. to as late as 6 a.m. Tuesday night through Saturday morning, according to Caltrans.
Flaggers will direct alternating traffic through the open lane, with the locations of the one-way traffic controls expected to shift as crews move through the work area. Signs will be posted to alert motorists approaching from both directions.
Motorists were advised to expect delays and use alternate routes during construction hours.
Caltrans also advised residents and businesses near the highway to expect noise, vibrations and dust from the construction.
The guardrail work is part of a pavement rehabilitation project spanning more than 18 miles of Topanga Canyon Boulevard between Pacific Coast Highway and Devonshire Street in Chatsworth.
In addition to repaving, the project includes upgrades to curb ramps, pedestrian push buttons and bus pads in the San Fernando Valley and the unincorporated community of Topanga, according to Caltrans.
Work on the San Fernando Valley portion of the project has been completed, and the entire project is expected to be finished in summer 2027.
