A portion of the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway will be closed early Saturday as crews continue work on Metro’s I-105 ExpressLanes Project, transportation officials announced Thursday.
The eastbound 105 will be fully closed between the San Diego (405) Freeway and Prairie Avenue from 1 to 6 a.m. Saturday, according to Metro.
Another full eastbound closure is scheduled from Prairie Avenue to Crenshaw Boulevard from midnight to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The closures are part of work to convert existing high-occupancy vehicle lanes into two ExpressLanes in each direction.
Metro said the project is intended to improve safety and mobility along the corridor, with the agency projecting travel-time reductions of up to 50% in the ExpressLanes.
Major construction on the project’s first segment, extending from Sepulveda Boulevard to Central Avenue, began in 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2028.
The project is also intended to improve connections with the Harbor (110) Freeway ExpressLanes and reduce freeway traffic spilling onto nearby streets.
