A man was charged Thursday with stalking and burglary after allegedly being found at singer Lana Del Rey’s home in Malibu.
Zachary Benton Self, 19, of Overland Park, Kansas, pleaded not guilty to one felony count each of stalking and first-degree burglary.
Self is charged with stalking the singer through social media, beginning Nov. 2, according to prosecutors.
He allegedly broke in Sunday at the singer’s home, which was unoccupied while undergoing renovations, prosecutors said.
Construction workers called police after spotting Self at the singer’s home Monday, but he was gone when police arrived, according to prosecutors.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies located Self the next day and arrested him.
He was ordered to remain jailed in lieu of $200,000 bail while awaiting his next appearance Dec. 16 in a Van Nuys courtroom.
If convicted, he could face up to six years and eight months in state prison, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
