One person was injured Friday in an explosion and fire at a recycling business in the Florence area, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the 9400 block of South Alameda Street about 1:20 p.m., said county fire Inspector Richie Licon.
The fire was confined to materials within a large hopper, or container, at the business, he said.
The condition of the injured person was not immediately known.
The cause of the explosion and fire was under investigation.
