The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Thursday for the 36th consecutive day, decreasing 2.2 cents to $3.49, its lowest amount since April 3.
The average price has dropped 31.1 cents over the past 36 days, including 1.4 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.3 cents less than one week ago and 28.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 33.4 cents more than one year ago. The average price has risen 41.7 cents since the start of the year.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 45-day streak from Jan. 12-Feb. 25, 2016, when that average also included figures from San Bernardino County.
