People looking for a traditional Christmas meal to enjoy can eat for free Tuesday in Norco.

Miracle on 6th Street is hosting its 14th annual Christmas Dinner Service at Maverick Steakhouse & Saloon, 3841 Hamner Ave.

“Everyone is invited,” said Brent Sakamoto, who began organizing the event in 2004. “This dinner has helped many have a better Christmas Day over the years.”

Plates full of traditional offerings, including turkey, ham and all the fixings, will be available, Sakamoto said. Servings start at noon and conclude at 4 p.m.

Santa Claus is slated to arrive by horse-drawn carriage at 1:30 p.m. to visit with diners and spread some Christmas cheer, according to Sakamoto, who said there will be pony rides and balloon art for children.

Miracle on 6th Street also provides free Thanksgiving meals every year. The food is donated by stores and restaurants and prepared by volunteers.

Miracle on 6th Street is named for the location where the Thanksgiving meals are served — Silverado Burgers on Sixth Street in Norco.
