A woman was injured late Monday morning in a two-car collision on rain-slick Interstate 215 in Riverside, while a driver walked away from a rollover crash on Interstate 15 in Corona.

The wrecks happened roughly a minute apart, about 11:15 a.m. The first was reported on northbound I-15 at the eastbound connector to the Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona and involved a Ford F-450 heavy-duty pickup that went off the freeway into a ditch, rolling at least once, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers reached the location within a few minutes and found the driver uninjured. Removing the truck from the ditch was expected to take at least an hour.

The second crash, involving an SUV and compact sedan, happened on northbound I-215, near the westbound 91 connector bridge in downtown Riverside.

According to the CHP, the vehicles smashed into one another in the fast lane, leaving the sedan disabled. A downpour was sweeping through the area at the time.

The driver of the car complained of pain and was taken to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment, according to reports from the scene. The SUV operator was not hurt.

Officers cleared the lane by noon.
