Rain and thunderstorms are possible Wednesday in the mountains of Riverside County and the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning, while conditions are expected to remain dry elsewhere in Riverside County, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunny skies are expected Wednesday morning in the mountains and the San Gorgonio Pass, followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon, forecasters said.
The chance of measurable precipitation Wednesday has been set at 20 percent for those two areas, while no rain is expected in the Riverside metropolitan area or the Coachella Valley, although there’s a slight chance — 20 percent — of showers and thunderstorms in the Coachella Valley Wednesday evening.
The mountains will have a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon through Sunday, NWS meteorologist Samantha Connolly said. Temperatures are expected to warm through Friday, then cool over the weekend.
High temperatures Wednesday will be 78 to 83 degrees in the Riverside metropolitan area, 70 to 80 in the mountains, 89 to 94 in the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning and 92 to 97 in the Coachella Valley.
