A commercial building at the Flyers Fuel Station in Riverside collapsed in flames Tuesday as firefighters trained streams of water from outside to defend surrounding structures, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at 2:04 a.m. at 3020 East La Cadena St., Riverside Fire Battalion Chief Bruce Vanderhorst said.
“Upon arrival firefighters discovered a fully involved commercial structure building that is used to store tires for Eagle Tire,” Vanderhorst said.
The flames were out at 3:55 a.m., he said.
No firefighters or civilians were injured, Vanderhorst said. Lines that provide power to eight nearby homes were damaged and Riverside Public Utilities was waiting for the scene to be safe before restoring electricity.
