A Riverside County Sheriff’s vehicle was involved in a collision while responding to a call in Thousand Palms Thursday, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deputy was traveling north on Monterey Avenue through the intersection when a Chevrolet Cobalt driving westbound on Varner Road hit the sheriff’s vehicle, according to CHP Officer Jacquelene Quintero.
CHP logs show the accident was reported at 10:51 a.m., and the intersection of Varner Road and Monterey Avenue was shut down minutes later.
There was no immediate word on any injuries.
