Crews worked amid heavy rainfall Thursday to restore power to an estimated 5,944 customers in and around Indio, the Imperial Irrigation District reported.
The IID reported the outages via a Twitter post about 11:15 a.m., with an update posted at 11:30 a.m. indicating power remained off and crews were at work in Bermuda Dunes, North Indio and North La Quinta.
A estimated restoration time was not provided, nor did the utility indicate whether the outages were rain-related.
