A motorcyclist killed in a crash with a pickup Saturday on Ortega Highway (state Route 74) in Lake Elsinore was identified as a Los Angeles resident.
Freeman Chen was 32, the Riverside County coroner’s office said.
The crash was reported just before 1 p.m. on the westbound side of the highway nearly three miles west of Grand Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Freeman was eastbound on his 2018 BMW R nineT when he made an unsafe turn and lost control, veering into the eastbound lanes, where he was struck head-on by a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup, the CHP said.
Chen was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said.
