Coroner’s officials Saturday released the name of a 21-year-old motorist who was fatally injured when she plowed into a tree amid a downpour south of Corona.
The accident happened about 3 p.m. Thursday on Knabe Road, near White Sage Road, in the Temescal Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said the woman may have been speeding in her Toyota SUV prior to the crash on the drenched blacktop.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived within a few minutes and found Hweidi lying next to the heavily damaged vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, and later identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office as Jessina Azmi Hweidi of Corona.
