One pedestrian was killed and another injured when they were struck by a vehicle Thursday evening in the unincorporated Riverside County community of Nuevo near Perris.
The deadly crash occurred in the 34000 block of Ramona Expressway, near Bridge Street, about 9:45 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
One pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and the other suffered minor injuries, the department said.
Details of what led up to the crash were not immediately available.
Traffic controls were in place for the westbound lanes of Ramona Expressway, beginning at Warren Road, according to the California Highway Patrol, which was investigating the cause of the accident.
