Two men were injured when a small plane crashed Sunday just outside the Corona Municipal Airport.
The single-engine Cessna 152 went down about 11 a.m. after experiencing engine trouble, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer.
He said the plane made an emergency landing on a service road a quarter-mile east of the airport.
The pilot suffered moderate injuries and the passenger had minor injuries, according to the Corona Fire Department.
The men, who were in their 50s, were engaged in a training exercise, fire officials said, before the engine lost power, sending the plane into a nose-dive. It slammed into the service road and flipped over onto its roof.
The National Transportation and Safety Board will not be sending investigators to the crash site because of the COVID-19 travel restrictions, according to fire officials.
