A crash involving two big rigs on state Route 86 in Coachella Monday caused an estimated 100 gallons of diesel fuel to spill on the roadway, but no injuries were reported.

The crash was reported at 2:32 p.m. on state Route 86 near Avenue 50, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Paramedics evaluated one driver, who declined a trip to a hospital, officials said.

A hazardous-materials crew, along with personnel with the county Department of Environmental Health, were called to the scene to assist in the fuel spill.

The CHP reported one northbound lane was blocked due to the crash, which remains under investigation.
