The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose for the fifth consecutive day Sunday, increasing 1 cent to $2.699.
The average price is 3.2 cents more than one week ago, 13.8 cents lower than one month ago, and $1.33 cheaper than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The increasing prices are the result of demand “increasing compared to prior weeks, and refineries have reduced production to between 50%-60% of capacity,” Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, told City News Service.
