Firefighters put out flames burning a stack o fpallets and cardboard before it could damage a commercial building, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 1:02 p.m. in the 4000 block of Flat Rock Drive, Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Wilson said.
“The first arriving fire units reported heavy smoke and fire to the rear of the building,” Wilson said. Further investigation revealed the fire was outside.
The flames were out in 30 minutes with no spread into the building, he said. A nearby home did sustain window damage due to the radiant heat exposure.
No injuries were reported.
