A big rig driver suffered a head injury Saturday in a rollover crash involving at least one other vehicle in Rancho Mirage, authorities said.

The collision was reported about 2:35 p.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway west of Bob Hope Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Paramedics took the driver to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment, the CHP said. There was no further information about that person.

A driver of another vehicle reportedly saw the crash and did not stop to render assistance, the CHP said.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 3:32 p.m., closing lanes 3 and 4 while a team of hazardous material workers cleaned up a spill of oil and diesel fuel, while the big rig could be righted. Lane 2 was added to the closure at 6:36 p.m. when efforts to pick up the tractor-trailer were to begin.
