An injured hiker was airlifted from a trail in the San Bernardino National Forest just west of Palm Desert Wednesday morning.
The “hiker down” call was received at 7:23 a.m. from a hard-to-reach area on the Bump & Grind Trail, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
A helicopter was able to land near the hiker’s location, but after being airlifted from the trail, the hiker declined transport to an area hospital, a county fire spokeswoman said.
